Privacy Policy
GenC : School for Content Creators (“GenC”, “we”, “us”)Website: genc.clubEffective date: October 6, 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We are based in India and handle your data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and other applicable Indian law.
1. Data we collect
When you fill in our application form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your answers to the application questions
Based on your answers, we may generate documents for you, such as a personalised plan or summary. These are linked to your application.
We do not ask for payment card details, passwords or government ID numbers.
2. How we use your data
- To review your application and respond to it
- To contact you about GenC, including on WhatsApp
- To create the documents you receive with your application
- To run and improve our service
- To meet legal obligations
3. WhatsApp messages and consent
By submitting the form with your phone number, you agree that we may contact you on WhatsApp about your application and our programmes. We send these messages through the WhatsApp Business API. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy also applies to messages on its platform.
You can stop messages at any time by replying “STOP” or by writing to hello@genc.club. You can withdraw your consent the same way. We will then stop messaging you, except for anything we are legally required to send.
4. Keeping your data safe
We store your data securely. It is encrypted and access-controlled, and only the GenC team members who need it can see it. We take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, change or loss of your data.
5. We do not sell your personal data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not share your name, phone number, email address or answers with advertisers.
The only exception is limited disclosure to the service providers that help us run GenC (see section 6), who may use your data only to provide their service to us and are bound by confidentiality. We may also disclose data if the law or a court or government authority requires us to.
6. Service providers
We use trusted providers for hosting, messaging, customer management, backups and advertising measurement. They act on our behalf, only for these purposes. For advertising measurement we use Meta (see section 7).
7. Cookies
Our website uses the cookies it needs to work.
On our programme pages (the pages about the GenC programme, the application form and its thank-you page) we also use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms. It tells Meta which of these pages you visit and when an application has been submitted, so we can measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. To do this, Meta's code reads and sets cookies in your browser and receives technical details such as your IP address, browser and device. Meta processes this under its own privacy policy and may link it to your Facebook or Instagram account. We do not send Meta your name, phone number, email address or answers.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can control how Meta uses this information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your data as long as needed to handle your application and follow up with you, and up to 24 months after our last contact. We keep it longer only if the law requires, and delete or anonymise it after that. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you can:
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it
- Ask us to correct or update it
- Ask us to erase it
- Withdraw your consent
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf if you die or cannot do so yourself
- Have your grievance heard and resolved
To use any of these rights, email hello@genc.club or message us on WhatsApp at +91 96069 55507. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we aim to reply within 30 days.
10. Children
Our programme is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has applied, contact us and we will delete the data.
